I have written poetry all of my life and was encouraged by various friends and associates to take it up more seriously when I was forty-four. I am now a published poet with an MA in Creative Writing. I teach writing and martial arts and have collaborated with some wonderful writers.
My political views are very important to me and the way I write. I co-run and am Submissions Editor for Hesterglock Press, run a women’s writing group and have edited a very popular anthology called Westside Herstory.
Teaching martial arts for Wutan Chinese Martial Arts has been a really major part of my daily existance, so I was delighted to collaborate with Albert Zang (film maker) and Tony Salinas (micro-tonal composer) to create a film and poetry pamphlet, Semblance, which is about being a female martial-artist and the relationship I have with two of my swords.
